Here is my recipe for a delicious lunch that supports the Lungs.
Ingredients
Green salad
Roast sweet potato
Kimchi
Tahini and miso dressing with added turmeric
Top with a mix of finely chopped leek, onion, crushed garlic and chilli
Sprinkled with sprouted, dehydrated (live) sunflower and pumpkin seeds
Directions
Roast the sweet potato (roasting imparts warmth and depth to food, sending warmth deeper into the body. Great for colder damper days). The sweet taste of the potato nourishes the digestive function of the spleen.
Add some kimchi to your bowl. This sends some friendly bacteria to your intestines, boosting immunity and serotonin (your happy chemicals), and some salad. This contains cleansing greenness for your liver and chlorophyll from sunlight.
Instructions for miso sauce
Mix tahini and miso with a little warm water in a cup, add a ¼ teaspoon of turmeric (reduces inflammation) pour on top of veggies and salad
Lung support topping
The leek, onion, garlic and chilli are pungent foods that help disperse mucus from the lungs, so supporting the immune system and helping the body to breathe more cleanly.
Sprinkle seeds and some chopped nuts on top if you wish. It’s so tasty it feels like sunlight in my soul
